Pros

WFH that’s about it really

Cons

Unrealistic work load, will work you like a dog. No work life balance in busy season. Management will lie to you and is extremely disrespectful. You will be micromanaged constantly and if you’re good at your job your only reward is more work. No raises or bonuses given unless you threaten to quit and they might give a couple percent of you been there over a year.

Pros

- Good pay and benefits - Work from home

Cons

At Snapsheet, employees are numbers, butts in chairs; not valued for their talent, commitment, or experience. You aren't told until halfway through your "development program" that you are auditioning for a full-time job. If you do not meet their unrealistic expectations, you will be fired. This is less of a development program more than it is a screening program used to filter out the humans from the machines. If they were transparent about this upfront, they wouldn't get new hires because no one wants to leave their current job for a trial period. The main problem with these unrealistic metrics is they do not count half of the work you do for anything. Any estimator knows that supplements are a natural part of the industry. These don't count toward your productivity though. You are expected to do 10+ estimates a day while also working on additional supplements and you are made to feel unproductive as a result, even though you are knocking down inventory all day. They are about quantity over quality. There is no time to complete quality work while managers are constantly harassing you all day about getting your numbers up. There is this constant belief among management that because employees are working from home, they must be slacking-off. In order to compensate for this totalitarian belief, they send you random meeting invites without forewarning just to catch you off-guard. If you have to go to the bathroom, better check your email to make sure they didn't spring something on you. Managers talk down to employees like they are dogs and do not relate on any emotionally-intelligent level. When you try to advocate for yourself, you get cookie-cutter responses. Fear is how they operate. They threaten you with job loss for not meeting unrealistic expectations. This is not great for morale and it only makes employees more resentful and less productive. But, management is clueless so this goes over their heads. Carriers are already getting frustrated with Snapsheet and are threatening to pull out. It's no wonder because of how much money this company just throws away to body shops. They basically get everything they ask for if they have a few pictures in the file, because the company wants to just push files out of the door. What is the consequence of this? Multiple supplements, which again, do not count toward your efficiency. Diversity and Inclusion is a joke. The board of directors are all white males. There is one female and one person of color. The turn-over has already been ridiculous since I've joined this company. Stay far away if you can. They don't call it "Snapsh*t for nothing."

Pros

Remote work. As much overtime as you can handle. Coworkers.

Cons

I remember when I started here, I was very proud of where I worked and how awesome it was. Post-Covid, unfortunately, things were not the same. The work environment became more and more toxic as the number of carriers they have contracts with increased. Your talent will only be recognized if they like your personality. Many talented, intelligent and very experienced estimators have passed through here with horror stories to tell by the end. Work/Life balance? Nope. Fair raises based on cost of living AND performance? Nope. Growth Opportunities? Only if they like your personality. Check out all the reviews. There’s a reason all the IT/Software employees rate Snapsheet well. It’s basically an estimating sweat shop. The insurance part of being an insuretech seems to have slipped past them. Their business model does not support being a thorough and consistent estimator who adheres to industry standards. Later in my tenure, there was always a feeling of being locked to your desk and output expected no matter circumstance. There is no empathy present here. Bullying was rampant for a large part of my tenure mainly originating from the upper/mid management levels and trickling down. Daily changes to policies and procedures on the whim of upper management usually stemming from HR issues or lack of perceived production. The statement of “Just copy the shops estimate…” is uttered a few times an hour, especially for supplements and additional damage without documentation. I worked in every department from Customer Service through Estimating Lead and at no point did I feel valued. The only perk is by the time you’re done, you’ll have all the state adjusters licenses you’re willing to test for. Big warning from a well tenured ex-employee. Stay far away if you value anything resembling a normal work/life balance and professional integrity.
