Pros

SoFi is heading in the right direction for both our employees and our members. Its a joy to come into work each day and work alongside my coworkers. Benefits are nice to! (they pay for your lunch):)

Cons

Its hard to say what are the cons as we create our own environment.

Pros

So far I like the work and the learning opportunities. They have great benefits.

Cons

The base pay is lower but considering the benefits it averages out. The company is growing quickly so sometimes it doesn't feel like management uses its resources well in terms of employees. I can spend time developing and then my work never goes into production. Someone else will do the same project. It can make you feel like what you do doesn't matter.

I’m pleased to hear that you enjoy the work, the learning opportunities, as well as the great benefits we offer. As part of our total rewards philosophy, we constantly benchmark our compensation against industry leading practices. If you are willing, I’d like an opportunity to review your base pay specifically. In addition, I want to let you know that your work is very much appreciated and valued. If you see things you think we should be doing to help accelerate our development and production, please let me know by emailing dburns@sofi.org. Thanks for the feedback, and hope to see you around the Helena office sometime. – D. Burns, HR Business Partner

Pros

Great Benefits, Free lunch and snacks, nice office

Cons

The SoFi culture is terrible. SoFi promotes a culture of back-stabbing and throwing peers under the bus. The philosophy of "others must fail in order for me to succeed" seems to be prevalent, especially in the call center. There is a complete lack of leadership that starts at the executive level and is especially visible at the Director/Manager levels. They preach the need to provide top notch customer service for members (this is the right thing to do) and implement policies and metrics that don't encourage helping members in the slightest (this is the wrong thing to do.) Although I don't know accurate employee turnover rates it has to be in the 100%-150% range. This is due to a burn out culture, lack of employee appreciation, poor management, and an HR department that would prefer to act first and ask questions later. This could be an excellent company. Unfortunately during my tenure, it was not.
