No joke, best job ever

Pros

I have been at SoFi for 6 months and I can honestly say it is the best job I've ever had -- and I've had some great jobs. Apart from great perks and benefits, everyone here truly believes in what the company is doing. And why not? While it's not a charity, we are truly helping people save money and achieve their dreams. I know it sounds corny, but I've talked to countless SoFi members that say just that.

Cons

For some people, the pace might be too fast. It's really, really fast.

Pros

Started with a good foundation (peer-to-peer lending). Foundation of decent, socially-conscious, smart and hard working individuals. Great location although a bit exclusive being in the Presidio. Same unicorn start-up perks - free food, gargantuan kitchen that's fully stocked 24-7, etc.

Cons

Most co-founders have departed. Arrogant leadership. Some negativity and conflicts of interest due to nepotism. Peer to peer segued to Marketplace lending. Elitest mindset. Bleeding cash and very poor judgement with Super Bowl ad.

Ambitious and fast-paced

Pros

SoFi moves incredibly quickly in our quest to reinvent consumer finance. We make major product releases and changes in days or weeks compared to months or years for banks, and people here are always looking forward, unafraid to make mistakes because there's no time to dwell on the past. There are plenty of opportunities to tackle new work if you're willing to raise your hand and go get it.

Cons

With such rapid growth, communication often breaks down, even at senior leadership levels. Releases can be half-baked. While there's a clear big picture strategy, there's not always a clear roadmap for smaller improvements and tactics.
