Pros

The employee benefits are hard to beat and I came in with a nice class of attorneys.

Cons

I reviewed appeals of denials of disability and made recommendations to the Appeals Council whether to affirm, reverse, or remand decisions of the ALJ presiding over these cases. I had little interest in this work and decided to leave before getting too comfortable in the job (note also that I worked there back in 2009-2010, but those years were not an option to select above). That said, a small subset of my colleagues had a genuine interest in disability law, and a job making legal decisions at this agency was likely a good fit for them.
