Pros

Socure is the undisputed leader in the identity verification industry, and this has given us a leg up in being able to scale quickly. Most signs are pointing that we'll be doing an IPO in the next 12-24 months which will give our employees a great opportunity to build significant wealth. Socure has done a great job of bringing on some of the best talent in the field, so you'll work with some really smart people, and for the most part people are hard-working but friendly. We've been on Forbes list of best startups to work for 3 years running, and there is definitely a reason - Socure is a great place to work.

Cons

Socure isn't for everyone. You'll probably put in some long days pretty often, which is normal for a pre-IPO, hypergrowth company. Socure has extremely high standards in just about every way you can think of. This is because we are trying to build a long-term, gold-standard. But again, not everyone will enjoy working in the high-pressure environment. If you like building things though, you'll love it here. There are growing pains, as would be expected (we went from ~170 to 540 employees in just over a year) but leadership is aware and is working to ensure Socure is a top-rated employer to work for.

Pros

- Base pay is very high - HR is at least nice department in the whole company - CEO likes to use chatGPT for writing long emails - CEO is a good orator, needed for sales pitches

Cons

- very old way of training machine learning models - few people are driving innovation - even new CFO when said that Money20/20 is not really useful, he was forcefully convinced to disagree with his belief. This is an example of 'few people' controlling things - attrition rate is quite high

Pros

- Talented, collaborative peers - Work from home / remote from anywhere in US or Canada - Unlimited PTO

Cons

- Very uncommunicative leadership — find out about developments the day of - Recently halved educational stipend and took away any saved-up WFH funds, so many employees lost hundreds or thousands of $$$ that they'd saved up over the years for educational purposes - Unclear paths to promotion or bonuses - Company never really healed after Summer 2022 rift - Keeps putting off DEI / culture development with a "do it later" mentality
