Pros

Great team Decent benefits Smart team members

Cons

After doing some research online, I discovered that this company has a number of issues with upper management. Just a few weeks before, our leaders announced that the company was rapidly expanding, and then BOOM, my job was gone. What are they hiding from us? It appears that leadership is hiding something. I am unemployed and have multiple monthly bills. Thank you for hiring and then firing me. Unicorn for sure.

Poor Planning + Recklessness = Chaos and Layoffs

Pros

Work from home, focused on work rather than ideology, high salary, good benefits.

Cons

Over hiring, extravagant and reckless spending, few process protocols, zero concern for how bad decisions affect employees' lives. I left an unexciting (but stable, albeit not nearly as high-paying) job to work at Socure, only to be laid off with the other 23% of hapless employees beguiled by upper management's heady tales of Socure's bright future. Severance packages are disappointing (one month's salary), and upper management can't be trusted to tell the truth about anything, it would seem. I should've known better...heed my warning and don't make the same mistake!

Pros

- Compensation was decent. Although by the hours I was effectively working 2.5 jobs and I should have been paid more. - Exposure to many fintech clients

Cons

- WLB is abysmal. I worked a 70 hour week over Christmas. I worked 7am-10pm for weeks on end. Due to other deadlines, you have to ship the fastest, junkiest solution you can then end up supporting it forever. - You don't build any actual skills or develop any valuable code, you just become well versed in their specific products and upsell clients - Infrastructure is unreliable but deadlines are strict - it's massively frustrating to have some new high priority emergency fall into your lap but be powerless to resolve it because something is down - Legitimately everyone is burnt out, and nobody cares - Literally no code collaboration - Forced to use both R and Python (even though they say you can use either) - Nearly everyone has worked here for only a little over a year. Nobody is an expert - No documentation whatsoever
