Great People, great leadership

Pros

Softchoice hires great people that fit well in to the work hard play hard culture. You need to prove you can handle the work load, quotas and time management. If you're doing what you need to be doing then you'll do well, if you're not willing or able to perform then you won't...pretty simple. It's a fun culture of experienced and inexperienced people who are all learning from each other and taking care of each other. The dogs in the office is a plus! Softchoice tends to hire from with in so there are lots of opportunities if you're successful in your current role.

Cons

Growth targets are aggressive YOY

Pros

Softchoice has a unique culture. 1. You can bring your dog to work. 2. You receive 2 paid volunteer days per year 3. There's beer cart once a month. 4. You can wear jeans to work

Cons

1. Softchoice hires a lot of new grads. It's a great place to start. However, salaries tend to be a bit low. 2. Softchoice has grown considerably over the last few years, but still functions like a small company. A lot of the processes need to be improved to increase efficiency. 3. Some departments are stretched pretty thin. Employees put in long hours including evenings and weekends. Finance and Licensing come to mind.

Company in transition, opportunity and issues

Pros

There's great opportunity here right now. This third attempt to get into the services game seems to be driven. With the customer base for licensing and hardware sales, this has the potential to be a serious professional services player. The services practices is growing, there is serious opportunity to get exposure to exciting projects and interesting clients

Cons

As a rule, the sales team doesn't know how to sell services. There is very little industry focus in sales, which also doesn't help in selling services.
