Extra Help Employees at Solano County are not welcome

Pros

Union positions. Union negotiates salary increases. Good compensation compared to fast food restaurants

Cons

Some positions are "extra help" and get only a fraction of the benefits of regular employees. Not much chance for advancement. My manager after working in the same department full time for 8 years, cut all the extra help employees from 8 to 4 hours per day. No performance evaluations or merit salary increases.
