Pros

The opportunities and people. There are so many forms of finance that you shouldn’t feel stagnant even though we are in a “back office” function. Finance is heavily touted and is part of all the customer facing decisions.

Cons

Resource constraints. They try to operate as lean as possible and because we’ve been successful at it for a couple of years they believe they can keep it up. Now some people are looking elsewhere from being burnt out.

Pros

Local company owned by Caterpillar. Allowed me to develop technical, leadership and management skills with a diverse team.

Cons

Benefits are eroding from the very family oriented start as it’s own company to a subsidiary with Cat that has increased out of pocket costs for it’s employees.
