Pros

Great Location in San Diego Stable Parent Company in Caterpillar Good pay and benefits for entry level positions Trying to do better with diversity and inclusion Strong customer base and market share Low Emissions Products help environment

Cons

Yearly raises (usually 2-4%) don't match rising cost of living in CA year over year. Company will need to pivot with inevitable shift towards renewable energy. Slow to innovate and bring new products to market. Dehumanizing layoff process for senior employees. Example: Some with 25+ years of service are kicked to the curb with a quick video call with HR. Third party drops off employee personal belongings just like a bad break up. Hard to watch hard-working guys who deserve a retirement celebration get treated like criminals.

Pros

Good benefits, great people, most departments really like each other, family events like Open House are fun, recognition is great, proud to work here

Cons

"We've always done it this way" attitude is discouraging, some people have been at the company forever and seem to only be there because of that, makes it hard to be motivated to do better if older employees can get by not meeting their goals

Pros

Great people, very good work-life balance, low stress.

Cons

Software and training support. "On paper" the training and support are excellent, with a help desk and all the "checkbox" required corporate training. However the systems and tasks required to do your job are antiquated and convoluted. Training is word of mouth or obsolete documentation. Everyone does things differently and it can take years to stumble across the right people or understand how the systems work. A lot of people (most) don't know how to properly execute their tasks within the software systems. The help desk is good for simple issues, but anything complex is escalated with typically several weeks required for a response and resolution. But the bar is pretty low so success is easy if you show up and keep breathing.
