Pros

They really take care of you. Great benefits, great hours, a lot of flexibility to accommodate employees with young families.

Cons

Does not foster creativity. Things have been done one way for many years, so if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Makes sense for the industry, as technology in heavy machinery takes years to be proven safe and effective. But this would not be a good place for some one who craves the "startup" feel".

Pros

Work load expectations are reasonable. Good opportunity for advancement if you're willing to consider a field (outside of San Diego) assignment.

Cons

Tough times for the Oil & Gas and Power Generation markets right now. Overly conservative management has missed out on opportunities to grow through acquisition both in gas turbines and adjacent industries.
