Pros

Strong business model brings good merit increases and annual bonus. Company values development, cross-functional development. Has tuition reimbursement program for basic or advanced degrees. Generally intelligent leaders, but very limited in focus.

Cons

Easy to work up through first couple of promotions, but then it's all about who you know. Culture is dominated by "good ol boy" network. Styles that succeed are very conservative, and don't speak out. Name of game is to make boss look good, and consistently agree with upper management.

Pros

Work life balance is great. Pay is so-so but I think not too bad. Most people are laid back and stay off of your back.

Cons

Nobody feels like what they are doing is important. No real urgency to get work done. If you're not self motivated you may not perform well because nobody seems to expect you to. There's no such thing as incentive at this company.

Pros

Very relaxed environment with great people/culture/values. Hard to get fired (rarely do people get fired because of poor performance). Many opportunities for technical & professional growth.

Cons

Lower than industry compensation. Not clear why certain people are promoted while the pace of career advancement is slow and it seems like there is a waiting line for every position. Most promotions require you to move and if you want to move into the upper echelons in the company you have to move quite a bit.
