Pros

Good people, you'll love your coworkers.

Cons

You'll also hate dealing with some of those same coworkers professionally. Everyone has a veto for and isn't afraid to use it.

Pros

I enjoy a flexible M-F day shift schedule with the option to work from home 2 days a week, 15 days paid vacation + 1 week of paid time off during the winter holiday company shutdown, yearly incentive bonuses, nights and weekends are infrequent, a great manager who trusts me to get work done without micromanagement, fun atmosphere, recognition of work. Work travel - I get to see different cultures, food, locations, people.

Cons

Healthcare benefits could improve. IT security protocols and procedures can make an easy task very complicated or impossible for some employees. Work travel - can be exhausting physically and mentally, little downtime while traveling, 12-hour workdays when traveling. Not too many career opportunities for me, but for others, there are plenty!

Pros

Employees are open to providing help to each other. Demand for oil & natural gas is high and the world needs energy. Safety is prioritized and they will get you what you need in the field to be safe if you ask for it.

Cons

Politics in the San Diego offices are terrible. Upper management team does not listen to employees despite an annual “Employee Insights Survey”. The Solar CEO openly leads with fear and criticism. This results in an anxious workforce and mistrust at the upper levels of management. Employees are expected to work in the office after covid restrictions are relaxed. New minimum 3 days per week in the office. It’s clear workers want a more flexible work environment. I anticipate a drain of talent when this is implemented.
