Pros

Flexible schedule No micro-managing Reasonable Compensation Most field sales people "work from home" Good management practices and receptive to input from employees

Cons

Product portfolio is somewhat limited No clear and defined strategy for aquiring large customers Selling strictly through the VAR channel presents challenges Lack of clear career path Professional development is achieved "on the job"

Pros

A very nice work environment with a lot of smart people to work with. The company was started by MIT guy, and he maintained a very good hiring culture, to hire only the best. So you get to work with a team which knows where it is going and can really deliver wonders. Awesome place to work.

Cons

Its not about SW, but the CAD as a sector is quite small, and once you get in SW, the world shrinks a bit. But I guess that can happen in any sector
