Pros

Its a job. not afraid to send you to training

Cons

More worried about shareholders than employees. Health benefits are lacking! Demand a lot out of technicians and are not willing to pay the median of what other places are paying. Does not take any suggestions. They have a system set up and call it an incentive pay, but really it is not they just take away money and never give any type of incentive. Have middle and upper managers that do not understand employees. HR department is not much help either.

Pros

The general working environment is full of good people and Sonic as a company has been trying to be cutting edge when it comes to technology for their employees such as iPads, etc.

Cons

Management is under a lot of pressure to sell a lot of units which trickles down. Seems as though they are paid on this, so filling the floor with extra salespeople only ends up costing that tier money so they don't care. Leads to a lot of underappreciated and unhappy employees that have a lot more to offer. Also the hours are excessive, which wouldn't be a big deal if it wasn't overcrowded.

Pros

My direct boss was very professional. Had been in the car business for years and was willing to share his knowledge.

Cons

Very bureaucratic and disorganized place to work. There are a lot of rules that are poorly implemented. You had to wear the company shirt, but there were only very large sizes left. You must use the Sonic ipad, but those were on back order too, etc. Also: if you are a sales professional, bear in mind, Sonic has recently transitioned to a "True Price" no haggle way of selling cars, which means you'll be making minis ($200) on almost every deal. it was so disorganized that I had no one to hand my resignation to-- they were all on vacation or out sick.
