Thank you for taking time to share your feedback and for your service to Sonoco. Our goal at every one of our operations/locations isto live by our values of Integrity, Respect, Service, Teamwork and Accountability. Unfortunately, sometimes business conditions negatively impact our teammates. Whether it is a customer closing a facility we supply, or an increase in volume that requires our teammates to work longer than usual, these are difficult situations. We strive to do the right thing by all of our stakeholders, especially our employees. But we certainly understand it is very personal to the individuals affected. Pros

I loved most of my coworkers. Working at Sonoco felt like a family. They pay well also. I enjoyed waking up every morning to go to work. If you fit in well and don't step on the wrong toes, it's a wonderful place to be.

Cons

The favoritism at Sonoco is like a disease. The point system only strictly applies to some. I was fired for supposedly going over my 3-point maximum during my 90 day probationary period. However, my time card never worked, it seems suspicious that I had any points at all. Once I received my termination letter, none of the points that were discussed at my "firing" were on there. In addition, I never even finished my full orientation, which means I never got to ask any questions concerning the full attendance policy or the any of the safety regulations. Also, the new supervisor who fired me had missed a few days himself and been more than 30 mins late and left more than two hours early. I was committed to my work and truly loved it there. However, it seemed someone was out to get me. I did however, always feel on edge about the possibility of losing my job,
