Pros

Sonos makes great wireless audio products and really brings the joy back to listening to new music. But you have to ask yourself why a company that is more than 10 years old and has been manufacturing since 2006 has 12 GlassDoor reviews. Just assume they buy a lot of silence on the way out the door.

Cons

There are two major challenges with Sonos: (1) location; and (2) leadership/management. There is no talent in the Santa Barbara region, so most employees are recruited from other markets. When you move there, you quickly realize Santa Barbara is a small, boring town. There are only so many soccer games and wineries you can go to. You are remote. If you thrive on idea generation, keeping your skills current in your speciality, or networking, get ready to do that virtually while your resume becomes stale. Beware of the cost of living in Santa Barbara which is approximately 20% greater than Los Angeles.

Pros

Lots of free food, generous product discounts, casual dress, passionate and smart colleagues, MUSIC!

Cons

No work life balance, sick days are really "work from home" days, some colleagues even called into meetings while on vacation! "Trial by fire" training for new employees...
