worked there a few years ago before sorenson took them over so cant comment on Sorenson itself
Pros
easy job, no interaction with people, lot of flexiblility with shifts and overtime to be had I think I didnt appreciate the job enough when I was there, I wanted to help people but a lot of times I didnt feel like I was really making a difference, and having matured since would like to go back but I don't think they do captioning anymore with real people. captioning is a skill, you can learn it, to the point where it becomes second nature, like waking up while watching tv and finding yourself captioning what is being said on show becasue it becomes second nature.
Cons
some of the things you had to caption were hard, people are messy and sometimes they dont treat each other well, but you still have to caption everything they say. job could be mind numbingly boring at times.and it did require some special skills to understand and accurately caption people who might be eating or having conversations with others while on the phone.
