Pros

Overall, SCE has great pay, benefits (401k and pension, which is typically unheard of), and culture. It is a demanding company and the employees are great. If you are to work for a utility in the Southern California region, this is a company to work for.

Cons

Some of the perks to working at SCE were removed recently (such as award points). Working at a generating facility, SCE corporate did not treat SONGS employees with the same regard as the other business units. The focus of the company did not align with its generating unit.

Pros

SCE employees are like family, I had the opportunity learn a lot, practice the skills that I had and have fun while I worked.

Cons

There were a lot of levels of management. After the tragedy a couple of years ago, SCE brought in Bain to take a hatchet to the structure. The fiefdom structure continues and the HR department is especially divisive.
