Pros

The Hawthorne facility is just amazing. I have never seen one so clean and effective so close. On the floor you can simply go up and touch rocket components. There is food onsite that is delicious and very cheap. Froyo, coffee, fruit, and cappuccinos are all free. The culture is fantastic, all members of the team are approachable from the cleaning people to the heads of the company. Employees are treated like valued team members.

Cons

The hours are very long and the expectations are high. Recently (and temporarlily) moved to an area of the building where construction is going on with no natural light.

Pros

Constantly doing new things, there are always things to look forward to and opportunities to take on more responsibility. Colleagues are all top notch.

Cons

At this point the company is big enough that it will take a while to work your way up, just like many other larger companies. Work hours can be high, but there's not really much direct pressure to work more.

The mission; the people and the thrill of watching something you directly helped come to fruition break the bonds of earth.

Cons

SpaceX needs grow fast and would really benefit from some change management experts and organizational design experts. It's growing too fast without the infrastructure and design to support it. Leads to a lot of employees getting lost in the shuffle.
