Pros

SpaceX is the epitome of a fast paced, all-star design team, writ large. I have been a part of many exciting projects in my career, but never have I seen that tight knit, get it done, agile design culture expand to every corner of the business. Through a process of creative destructive from the bottom up, progress is made every day toward the key goal of reaching Mars.

Cons

Learning curve is steep like on any aerospace project. Also, while I have seen / heard the rumors of people working 24/7, in reality, its not at the feared levels. Expect to work hard and fast

Pros

Its not everyday a normal human can walk into work and see 4 rockets being built. It is a great pleasure and experience to work for a company on the verge of changing the world and accomplishing the impossible.

Cons

Accomplishing the impossible typically comes with long hours and some stress but welcome to 21st century business environments.

Pros

Mission: Revolutionizing space flight and making humans a multi-planetary species! What is cooler and more inspiring than that? Benefits: Amazing health care, stock awards, and a lot of perks. Travel: Opportunities to work at launch sites and test facilities means paid visits to Cape Canaveral and Kennedy Space center, opportunities to view rocket launches, and see hardware being tested in Texas. Swag: Awesome apparel and accessories for dirt cheap.

Cons

It's hard and it's not for everyone. If you're looking for a unionized, sit around and wait for your turn to torque a nut then go sit down again type of job, SpaceX is not for you. You are expected to be flexible, self-driven, and willing to work outside of your comfort zone when necessary. Pay: Hourly pay rates/salaries tend to be lower than comparable companies. Overtime and stocks can make up for it but the base rates could be better.
