      Pros

      Working at SpaceX definitely provides a sense of contributing to something much greater than yourself. The best part is that just about everyone here feels that way and is very passionate about their work and the team. It's a unique opportunity to work with intelligent, passionate and friendly (personality fit is VERY important here) professionals on history making endeavors.

      Cons

      It is a very dynamic environment not for the faint of heart and easily discouraged. Unexpected changes and huge challenges are a part of the daily workday. This translates to some long hours and a hectic schedule.

      - Extremely cool place to work. We really are changing the world. Working for an eccentric billionaire to help create the future of commercial spaceflight and exploration is something that blows people's minds and is extremely exciting, every day. - Launch days are awesome! It's extremely rewarding to watch the culmination of all your hard work result in sending something to orbit every few weeks. - Engineers have flexible work hours. You can work the hours that fit your schedule best. Hours aren't really tracked, the results of your work are. Most people are very passionate about what they do and choose to work long hours. But you have the flexibility you need to go to doctors appointments, etc. without hassle. Most managers are also very supportive of people working from home if needed. - Delicious, healthy food options, at great subsidized prices. Free espresso and fro-yo! - On-site healthcare! Primary Care Physicians, Mental Health, Physical Therapy, and Dentistry!

      Cons

      Even though it's really exciting, sometimes, it's hard to remember you're working on the leading edge of commercial spaceflight technology when you're immersed in it day-in-day-out. Schedule pressure and frequent last minute changes in strategic direction weigh people down. People get jaded. Burn-out is common.
