Pros

SpaceX allows you to take on a high amount of responsibility very early in your career, and work on some really cool projects. Everyone at the company is exceptional and it's a great experience to work with and learn from people who really know what they're doing. I sometimes think about what it would have been like to work at NASA during the 60's, leading up to the moon landing, and wish I could travel back in time to be there. But there's no need to - because this is SpaceX today, but instead of going to the moon, we're going to Mars.

Cons

Hours can be long, but not necessarily an issue if you're enjoying the work. The short deadlines can be stressful at times.

Pros

The engineering work is always new and challenging which is a big plus for job satisfaction. I also appreciate the fact that sound engineering and data drives the decisions with minimal or no politics. It also does not hurt that as far as aerospace jobs this one has the highest chance of producing something truly amazing you can show off to your grand kids.

Cons

High expectations and you are not a big fish in a small pond as there is a high percentage of smart and very hard working people.

Pros

You get to work with unbelievably bright people and have a sense of ownership with a state-of-the-art rocket and capsule. Every launch is an amazing celebration of hard work and teamwork. I cannot think of other jobs with similar satisfaction.

Cons

It is hard work and often requires longer hours than most companies. This is because you get so much ownership.
