Pros

As a young engineer who formally worked for a behemoth aerospace company, I know first-hand that the level or responsibility afforded to young employees by SpaceX is unmatched. The complexity and scope of my very first project would have taken a decade to be assigned in other aerospace companies. SpaceX hires the very best and expects that new employees with become passionate about what they do which is how they are able to provide historically above-grade assignments. If you’re willing to put your head down and work, you can accomplish amazing things at this company. General list of pros: - The cafeteria is awesome and provides amazing food at heavily subsidized prices (especially dinner). -Young, energetic and passionate workforce. Pretty much everyone is extremely intelligent and motivated. -Flexible work culture (time off, internet usage, software selections, etc.) -Badass mission: Make humans an interplanetary species.

Cons

Monday through Friday, life = SpaceX. There’s no getting around the long hours. That being said, you won’t be alone and the days go by very quickly. Some people literally eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at work. General list of cons: -Long hours. -Somewhat chaotic design, analysis and documentation processes. -No 401k matching. -Relatively low salaries considering the hours and cost of living.

Pros

- Great place to learn as a young engineer - Fast paced high energy work environment - As an entry level employee you are given a huge amount of responsibility - Along with the responsibility you are given a lot of freedom to try new things and encouraged by management to do so - Everyone at SpaceX works extremely hard towards a unified goal - Benefits are in-line with the amount of work put in by employees

Cons

- Balance of work-life is a challenge sometimes, although when taking a job at SpaceX it is understood that you are not going to be a 40 hr/week employee. If this is an issue, the job is not for you. - As the number of employees continues to increase, communication and knowing who to talk to about what is becoming more difficult.

Pros

High pace environment, with laser focus on development. The company moves as a one-soldier army and the vision of what we are trying to do is clearly communicated and shared. If you are looking for a place where your efforts are not wasted but are directly connected to the company end goal you found the place for you.

Cons

Work environment is intense: there is not much room for inefficiencies and low productivity. Much will be required of you: not a 9-5 job.
