Defense and Security Systems Division - Great company to work for!

Pros

One of the larger and more stable employers in the area. Flexible scheduling, nice friendly work environment. Equipment and facilities are dated in some cases but improving more each year with continued capital investments for modernization. Corporate leadership is finally competent and energized compared to year's past with some impressive results to date. Very smart and dedicated employees. Low turnover rate, very common to see service awards for 30+ years with the company.

Cons

There are still remnants of the old culture present (pre-turnaround days) that hold back this division. Tendency to maintain silos and avoid accountability still rears its head quite often which can be frustrating for those embracing the 'new way' of doing things, especially when it occurs in the more senior leadership positions. Facility is in the middle of nowhere, most employees commute 45 mins or more one direction.

Moving Into the Big Leagues

Pros

Talented and hand-picked executive staff. The executive team has a plan and they are executing it with skill and precision. The relatively recent management shake-up makes this place feel almost like a start-up at times. All in all, great people to work with. Insanely strong balance sheet for a mid-market manufacturing facility.

Cons

Some old holdouts from the last regime are real downers. Thanks to a diligent corporate process, those holdouts are being ferreted out and moved on.

Pros

Many long term employees who understand their jobs Good reputation with their customers New leadership team committed to the company's success

Cons

Too many people existing in silos More investment needed in state of the art equipment Must grow the customer base to be more successful Training and development for new employees is non-existant
