Pros

Pay and Benefits are decent, not great but semi-competitive.

Cons

Leadership cares not for the employees. You will not have a training or a career pathing plan. You will be asked to do random things like move across the country or you don't have a job anymore. Cable-box TV is still their primary cash cow by far, and the days of cable-boxes are numbered. Many people have already cut the cord and the percentage of cord-cutters is growing. If you go to work for this company be smart and get in on the Internet Service Provider side of the business as that business line is not going anywhere anytime soon. The networking engineer piece of the business will be very important for years, if not decades to come, but the Cable TV side is a dead end business. Over the Top solutions are overwhelmingly consuming market share.

Pros

You won't be laid off or fired without a serious amount of paper work first. Fairly stable industry. Large installed base of customers which offers some stability Good medical/dental PTO is comparable to elsewhere. Mostly good work life balance. As long as you are doing an average job you can come and go as you please.

Cons

- Corporate goals are not clearly communicated and seem to change to fit the situation during bonus time. (Conveniently we didn't meet our "aggressive revenue and EBITDA" targets... these goals were never communicated so how do we know?) - Senior execs have not realized that the company is sliding into being a utility. - Seems like they think that offering cable services is still sexy and worth a premium. (hint.. it's not) - CEO goals are not achievable with the current culture. I agree with the goals to implement new technology, but the method and timing reveal a lack of understanding of the morale of the workforce. - Mid-level management is rife with incompetence, retaliation, bitterness, politics, and greed. SVPs seem to think their job is to play personal politics and create silos - WFH policy is inconsistently applied and since there is no holding managers accountable to managing well the policy seems to punish the individual contributor because managers don't hold their own teams accountable. - Many groups have leaders (Director, SrDirector, VP, GVP, SVP) who regularly use retaliation and intimidation to shift blame for their own incompetence and bad decisions. - Spectrum is NOT a pay for performance company. It's not worth it to expend extra effort to stand out. Everyone will get the same (very low) raise each year (regardless of impact and performance to goals). In other words, the people who clock in at 9 and leave a 2 will get the same increase as someone who works 7 to 7 and produces 100x more.

Navisite - Ups and Downs

Pros

Learning, Growth, Bonuses like diwali and annual day gifts, Qualified top management, High and visual missions and visions, Qualitative and quantitative work, Continuous training's. Only initial salary is good. Good but biased annual appraisals. Managers are really good of every domain. Specifically Windows/Cloud/NOC/DBA/LEMSS/Backup/Application team.

Cons

Cab amount deduction. Who does that. If you don't want to get burdened with transport debt, apply general shifts or provide daily work from home. If you are providing rotational shifts, cab should be absolutely free. Management judges you own the basis of your utilization ( Utilization judgement is for machine work, not best fitted for humans - worst criteria). Work pressure is extremely high and number of employee is quite low in comparison (which adversely impact human health). Biasing negative politics ( Good person will always be good for everyone, they will not be good for 1 or 2 only). Some team has 12 hour shift module while some team has weekly rotational shift, which is not good for employee health.
