Pros

Great starting pay, if you do good you get to test for a raise

Cons

Adherence is key to staying employed. Try not to miss work or plan ahead your days off or schedule in advance time off, call-in same day is accepted but not preferred

Pros

-Can be good pay if you are good at talking to people. -Relatively low amount of hours for a residential sales position. If you are good at selling it can be 40/week or lower. -Simple, short sales cycle. Few reasons for customers to get cold feet and pull the plug on a deal. -Mileage reimbursement. If you drive a hybrid vehicle, you may even profit on this. -If you have a proven track record of success, you will almost never be micromanaged and free to do your job the way you see fit. -Great benefits and 401k match. Employee stock discount if you hit 1 year tenure with the company. -Supervisors usually take where you want to sell into account. No guarantees, but you will usually have a say in which leads you get every month.

Cons

-Door to door sales -Work rain or shine -Have to use personal vehicle, commute can be far depending on which office you are based out of (mine was about 45 minutes/50 miles max, but other locations had further commutes) -Highly recommended to work Saturdays for at least three hours if not hitting numbers -Quality of install technicians wildly varies. Some are courteous and professional, while others start work in people's yards without even announcing their presence, don't communicate, and say they completed the job when they didn't. Good luck getting them to reply to your emails or Webex messages when they don't do their jobs. Customers who get these jerks usually cancel and warn the rest of the neighborhood about switching. -Spectrum's infrastructure in some neighborhoods is terrible, even in areas where they just installed lines. They hire the lowest-bidding third-party contractors, who cut as many corners as possible, destroy people's lawns, and make the service unreliable. -Many incentives they promise can be unrealistic depending on your area. Some locations have multiple top reps regularly being promoted to the Senior rep position and getting annual bonuses because there are fewer competitors. Other locations with more competition never have reps hitting these goals.
