Pros

People are very talented and easy-going, lots of say in the decision-making process.

Cons

A few growing pains, structure can be a little too loose at times (not a large problem, though)

Pros

Remote work, benefits, competitive pay for sales positions, nice people, work-life balance

Cons

If you’re considering a role here and are currently employed or have other options, I recommend looking elsewhere. Spiceworks lacks strong leadership and strategic direction. Many in management struggle with understanding the products, competitive landscape, and how to maintain a strong market position. It was clear that both leaders and individual contributors were often placed in roles without the necessary expertise, resources, or support to succeed. I watched leaders who should have thrived fall apart. In the 2024 alone, Spiceworks went through six rounds of layoffs and introduced a voluntary buyout program at the Ziff Davis level. Ziff Davis also attempted to sell Spiceworks in early 2024. The company is aggressively offshoring work to India. Spiceworks often puts profit above the best interests of its customers. Leadership appears most focused on short-term financial reporting to Ziff Davis, resorting to sketchy tactics to pull revenue into the quarter. Corners are cut, and decisions are made with short-term gains in mind, sacrificing quality. Business ethics are out the door.

Pros

WFH and potentially flexible time off (dependent on your management/department)

Cons

Company has been prone to layoffs for years. Hires heavily in India with the intent to push out onshore talent for a cheaper option, but doesn't account for loss in quality or work flow. If you have too much on your plate, too bad--if they hire anyone, it will be very cheap labor that's more harm than help. Would not recommend to anyone. You will get laid off at some point, probably sooner than later.
