Pros

Very willing to get people in the right job. Very friendly environment, want people to succeed. Good technology. PTO, RSUs, benefits, and has a fun environment. Very approachable and smart CEO. Very smart people to learn from. Telecommuting option is provided, but hard to do when you're on a conference call with 8 people in a room shouting at each other forgetting you're on the phone. Party culture if you like that type of thing.

Cons

Politics, politics, politics. Even though people are friendly, there is a lot of backstabbing that is going on. There is a lot of shifting going on in management that is taking a lot of the individual contributors by surprise, looking like people are being forced out, and it makes everyone very uneasy. Free food, drinks, etc with no sensitivity to allergies. Absolutely no consideration for those who have families and want to enjoy them instead of working long days, nights, weekends, etc. Many in management at all levels do not care how things interact with each other. Many are either my-way-or-the-highway or just don't care. The worst HR and IT departments I have ever worked with anywhere, and they are both given awards constantly. Hypergrowth is fine, but if you don't have the infrastructure to support it, you are only shooting yourself in the foot. But the worst part? The unprofessionalism that is not only accepted, but it appears to be encouraged in every department. And that has to do with the Boy's Club that's there even though management puts blinders to it.

Can't Be Trusted

Pros

Strong tech with a passionate customer base.

Cons

The company does NOT care about their employees. They will offer benefits then eliminate them without warning. They claim to be on a bunch of "Best Place to Work" lists but the organizations that put out those rankings are easily manipulated. They do not listen or care when it comes to employee feedback. Also, don't expect to get any form of good grace if you leave the company. You are dead to them no matter how long you worked there and how good of terms you left on were. I would not recommend anyone I like to work for Splunk anymore.

Unsure about the experience

Pros

Lots of opportunity to take on new work, meet new people, and learn as you go. It's very fast-paced, which is great for anyone who already comes with years of experience and can help guide Splunk. People you reach out to are nice and friendly. It feels like people want to find solutions together. The Global Rest Days are nice, plus other additional company PTO, perks, and remote option.

Cons

A lot of people have left. Most of my team members have less than 1 year of tenure. We're all trying to figure it out, which can get frustrating as you reach out to other partners and come to find they're also new and the prior folks with the knowledge have left. Therefore, a lot of processes are not fully understood and a lot of time is spent asking questions or finding the right people. There is not a whole lot of team engagement to be seen, celebrated, or invested in some way. Slack channels are quite dead. It just feels like work, work, work, and not getting to spend the time to get familiar with your own team. Management doesn't seem to understand or appreciate your full workload. Just seems to be adding more and more responsibilities, while being okay with somewhat-baked results. Therefore, work/life balance is a bit hard, considering a lot of unreasonable deadlines or crazy workload. At this rate, I do not see it as a company I'd consider staying beyond 2 years.
