Part Time Staff

Pros

Forty percent discount on items.

Cons

Mean girls on steroids, fraternity like hiring staff, high expectations with very low pay (you can make more money working as a cashier at the Dollar store), nonexistent six month peer review so basically non existent raise conversations will take place. Their expectations are too high as they expect a seasoned athlete with expert product knowledge, but they pay you minimum wage. They start you out part time to probably not be forced to give you medical and other benefits. This is the lowest pay I ever received in my life. I was looking for a fun part time job, but unrealistic expectations and contradictory and unorganized management is laughable at best. Most people who work there live with their parents, significant other who makes more money to support them, or has tons of roommates. Basically you can not live off these wages. I’m sure you would be given more money either on unemployment benefits or on welfare.

Overall Great Place to Work

Pros

For the most part employees are pleasant and easy to work with, and the over 25 crowd is comprised of extremely hard workers. EVERYONE has mandatory floor time, I'm talking I've been at the Presidio Store and seen the partners ringing up customers. This means if there are issues management is made aware immediately. Tons of opportunity for upward movement. Work hard and be rewarded. AWESOME DISCOUNT, access to order from 3point5/expercity, shop deals from vendors, product clinics that give you swag and product knowledge, race fee reimbursement, airline miles, free lift tickets, free food, and post work beer fridge.

Cons

You aren't allowed to enter your own availability. This leads to issues with scheduling, and for someone with multiple jobs, it is a pain. Staff are not held accountable, ever. I think people could be infinitely late and never be written up or even talked to. Management says you will get reviews every 6 months and they don't happen.
