- Toxic teammates are something you are just told to deal with
- They use Lead Engineer as their Manager title (or did while I was there). While I was in the role I was expected to output Senior Engineer level individual contributions, directly manage the growth and performance of several engineers, and act as the product manager/scrum master. My day to day was needing to go to meetings to understand what the business needs are and being directed not to be in meetings because projects needed to be worked on.
- I had to go to bat several times for the people I managed because the Untracked PTO wasn't being honored.
- If you get promoted you have to do the job for 3 months before you will get the pay increase.
- Internal promotion pay increases are insultingly small. Nowhere near even local market levels.
