Pros
Great locations throughout Central Oregon. Renovations throughout the system have made the work environment clean and brand new. Multiple different departments to work in, this is the only hospital in the region so everyone from the region comes to this hospital system. Recent upgrade in the EMR system to Epic has made for overall better patient care flow.
Cons
They are the only hospital system in the region and thus without competition do not emphasize care of their staff: lacking in terms of pay, benefits and educational opportunities for staff. Often you can be pigeon holed in your job and department and movement across the system is difficult. This hospital system is slow to utilize evidence based practice yet is the 10th highest cost of health care in the US (not the state, in the USA). Horrible care culture, be prepared for the age old of "nurses eating their young", however this is a problem throughout all levels and all job types.
