Pros

Good Co worker's clean shop and provided all tooling for job

Cons

For my last two years there I was never busy. Over time was cut to nothing last 6 months and always a promise for more but two years of promises. I gave up.

Pros

StandardAero is the leader in the industry for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of TFE 731 engines and business jets. They offer pretty decent benefits and work flexibility. There are lots of opportunities for advancements and the company believes heavily in promoting from within. There are many instances of people in higher positions that started "from the bottom". There is a lot of company pride in the shops.

Cons

The company does not progress in terms of IT infrastructure. They are always on the verge of a sale, trying to cut costs wherever possible. The company has changed over multiple times and the current CEO has made it obvious that he will get to the bottom line no matter what -- even if means cutting people who have built a lifetime career there. Opportunities for training or keeping up to date with the most current trends are really non-existent. Extremely weak marketing.

Pros

Very clean shop, with big focus on safety, some very good people to work with, good Christmas party (free).

Cons

Lower than average pay, poor benefits, "bottom-line" management focus to the point that employees are made to feel like consumables; politics entirely focused on self-preservation especially in front line and middle management; too many "yes" managers who won't stand up for their employees.
