      Easy job but low pay. Morons running things.

      Pros

      Hours are ok, day shift starts at 5 so I hope you are a morning person.

      Cons

      Low pay, leadership is too focused on the wrong things. The 5 years I was there saw people getting fired for being late or missing days, but if you scrap 500,000 dollars worth of parts and oh well, guy scraps 3 $40,000 HC shafts in a 2 week period and his excuse is " I am tired from all the OT im working" gets 1 step of discipline The let a 10year guy [running the entire 731 rotor shop by himself] walk for 3 dollars an hr. They replaced him with 2 full time people and a third for most of the week. That cant make sense to anyone. The bean counters run the show and they constantly step over dollars to save a dime.

      Pros

      For a large, corporate company, you don’t feel like just another number. There are opportunities for advancement. The company has a growth mindset. In the aviation industry, StandardAero is one of the best.

      Cons

      Like most of America, talent retention has become a challenge. The health benefits offered are worse than other places I have worked previously. Not terrible, but not great. Affordable options (high deductible plans with HSA).
