Pros

It's definitely not a corporate culture. For most staff there's no "bottom-line" that we all have to work toward, since it's essentially a high-profile non-profit. There are a lot of different departments that usually have nothing to do with each other, so it feels smaller than it really is.

Cons

If you're in IT, it's starting to feel like Stanford is being left behind. IT changes fast, and Stanford definitely does not. Also, unless you're a professor you will always be a second-class citizen at best.
