Pros

Starbucks has done a good job transitioning to remote working during Covid in 2020. We use Teams and have several video calls daily, including org- and company-wide town halls, which makes it easy to still feel connected. The business is recovering well and digital initiatives have huge potential.

Cons

Starbucks should pay everyone more: corporate partners and barista partners. Additionally, Starbucks should provide longer term guidance for remote work and lead in innovating on the future of work. I wish starbucks would commit to permanent work from home so we can leave the high cost of living Seattle area

Pros

Free coffee and food Free Spotify Premium Networking abilities Free wifi Trainer bonuses

Cons

They pretend to care about us, but they constantly found ways to get blood from a stone. I was worked ragged all the time for pennies and told I was being treated well. I mean, come on. Treat me like garbage but don’t lie about it.

Pros

For the most part people are friendly. The benefits are excellent, especially if you intend to make use of the transgender healthcare coverage. Lyra is also great to have.

Cons

The benefits are much like a fire hose to fight against the dumpster fire that is my mental health. It's nice to have, and it's more than many other jobs provide, but Starbucks is simultaneously pumping gasoline into the fire and rendering it moot. Make no mistake, this job will break you. Even the prospect of Starbucks paying for all of my transition related surgeries wasn't enough to keep me here. The low wages ($9.79/hr base as of this writing) absolutely cement my view that you should not work here, but honestly even if they were 50% higher I doubt it would be worth it.
