Pros

At my location, LGBTQ-friendly employees

Cons

Supposedly great transgender health insurance. We had four trans people in our store. I don't think anyone of us could access it. I spent most of my time on the phone talking to the Starbucks insurance and going round and round in circles.

Pros

SBUX was everything I thought it was when I joined the company 8 years ago. Many a graduate level business book had tales of a company that loved and treated them with respect and decency. Servant leadership was everywhere and SLT partners spoke and acknowledged everyone that they came in contact with. People were empowered and the pure positive energy was in abundance. This in turn allowed SBUX to achieve great things both for the stock holders and the partners from the Baristas to EVP's all shared in tactile thrill of achieving large clear and direct goals.

Cons

It all began to change with the exit of Howard Schultz. Howard stepped down from his post as the chief partner emeritus in the summer of 2018. Suddenly a new regime began to take the company in a very traditional format that is seen in everyday American Business. Practices that were honored and were embedded in the company vanished as did the former leaders that served under HS. Suddenly it was Speed and Velocity that were the key drivers for a leadership team that no one knew. This new way cut across all disciplines and it damaged the strong core that remained trying to carry on without the founder and trans formative leader who left us. Today as we enter a time of indecision we are now working for a group of Senior Leaders who try their best to honor the past but must pay homage to people who honor one thing and one thing alone, the almighty dollar.
