      Pros

      The company provides you with everything you need to run a 1.5 million dollar business, the job give you a perfect work life balance and provides a huge benefit package.

      Company pays external hires higher than internal, the company expects a lot from store managers.

      Pros

      You'll probably never get to work with more interesting/outgoing people at any other job than at Starbucks. You and your coworkers are a team and every day presents new challenges, but everyone pitches in to make the day go as smoothly as possible and put a smile on one another's face.

      Cons

      Vertical movement within the company can be difficult. I started out as a barista and after speaking with my ASM and SM, it seems that any promotions you receive past shift supervisor are few and far between. My former ASM relayed to me that Starbucks' policy gravitates toward outside hires who have management experience, even if their field is completely unrelated to the customer service industry. This is disappointing as a current employee; qualified workers who have invested years of their life into a company should be given priority over promotions and not looked over because they lack that management experience.

      Great organization, lives by their mission, strong opportunities for growth.

      Little passive aggressive, giving good feedback to employees in a timely manner that matters. Not always as forth coming with information when needed.
