Pros

-People are very willing to meet with you and help you out -The free coffee each week -30% off at Starbucks stores

Cons

Being an external hire, I feel like an outsider everyday I am at work. No matter how much I try to "immerse" with my team and other partners I seem to always be purposely left out of team conversations. Additionally, I could tell from day 1 that most managers because managers not because they are good leaders but because they are friends with directors or VPs. This has led to more bad managers than good ones. Parking is embarassingly horrible, and the company does not seem to care.

Pros

Starbucks offer's great benefits for their employees working a minimum of 20 hours a week including medical/dental/vision, stock grants, employee stock purchasing at discount, 401K matching, and more..

Cons

Told repeatedly that Starbucks prefers to hire from within but on multiple occasions had to train outside hires personally just to watch them be placed in higher positions, of which they were not nearly as experienced as a tenured partner like myself. Felt consistently overlooked by change in upper management, seemingly needing to reprove myself over and over, making it almost impossible for me to advance in the company. Rough hours.

Pros

Partner connections, free beverage(s) when working, free food item when working, able to transfer between different stores, ability to move up within company, customer connections, coffee and tea knowledge, stock options, 401k, cup fund

Cons

Understaffed, high pressure, no longer opportunity of raise every 6 moths, short training/learning period (makes it extremely stressful for some people who need more time to learn), pay, mean customers from time to time, cleaning
