Pros

Very interesting technology, leader in the field. Lots of things are happening. Great amount of flexibility regarding working hours, work from home and so on.

Cons

Management in some teams. A weird bias into getting some projects through while taking high risks, and then being unnecessarily risk-averse and boggling down other projects. For engineering, if you live in Tallinn, everything is within hand's reach. If you are elsewhere, it's very different story, and there are a lot of barriers for not being in the office. Occasionally ridiculous cost-cutting, to the scale of CEO approval needed for 30€ expense that is already approved by the manager.

We really appreciate you taking the time to share such comprehensive feedback after your significant contribution as a Software Engineer with us. We’re delighted that you found our technology very interesting and recognized Starship as a leader in the field, as well as valued the great flexibility regarding working hours and work-from-home options. We also appreciate your feedback regarding project prioritizations. Balancing innovation with stability is key, and we continuously strive to improve clarity and strategic alignment across all engineering teams. Your feedback on the remote vs. in-office experience for engineers is highly important. We are focused on making sure all our employees, regardless of location, feel included and have the resources and support they need. Finally, thank you for the feedback regarding the administrative processes like expense approvals. We aim for efficiency in all areas to ensure they are streamlined and appropriately scaled to support our teams without creating unnecessary friction. Thanks again for your contribution! 🚀🌟

Pros

If joined the team, you would experience the fast paced engineering organisation and would develop solutions for a plentiful fleet of unique edge devices, which solve real business goals for the company's customers.

Cons

Maybe isn't necessarily a con, but to be productive in this environment an individual contributor in Software Engineering Teams would need to be a Jack of many trades. You wouldn't get to hyper-specialize, and would instead drive your assinged project holistically.
