Pros

Hourly wage for a claim worker can be pretty competitive. Benefits package is fair, health insurance, etc. is appropriate for the job level.

Cons

The company has greatly declined in the 5 years I have worked there and they no longer care about employee happiness at all. They are forcing claims to work mandatory overtime, work on weekends and holiday. Have implemented a new clock in and clock out system to tightly monitor associates and reduce payments, and continue to load employees with too much work and refuse to hire more claims people to spread the work around.

Pros

Paid overtime, benefits, yearly raises, pension

Cons

Reduced opportunities for advancement - most jobs moving to hubs in AZ, GA, TX. Focus is on numbers, not quality work. Unmanageable work load. Although you have paid vacation, you are barely able to take it due to corporate scheduling requirements. If you can take a day off, it's almost impossible to catch up on work when you get back. Due to handling claims for west coast, we must work late hours. The morale in this office is just sad and defeated now. 4 years ago, this was a great place to work.

Pros

Pay and benefits. Company paid pension for retirement. The stability of knowing the company will be there in the long run. Being able to pay to help people when they need it most is nice. Not pushed to deny everything, rather to find coverage for people.

Cons

Changes by upper management have caused a degradation in company culture. Company no longer values the talent that made it great. Now they are focused on the bottom line only.
