Pros

Great Health insurance Credit Union Campus near the lake

Cons

Extremely understaffed- extensive hold times for the callers and lack of "off the phone time" to actually work on claims. This also results in almost non-existent promotions. I was actually told by a team manager that you have a better chance of quitting the company and applying for the higher position several months down the road. Micromanaged- Everything an employee does is tracked. Your handle time, your talk time, your wrap time, how long your mouse goes without moving, and yes, your bathroom time will be tracked so think twice about drinking that cup of coffee in the morning because it could potentially cause you to lose your job. The attendance (points) policy actually causes employees to call out. In many situations, it is better to call out than to arrive late to prevent points from accruing. The claims software is very outdated (interface similar to Windows 3.1). A process that should only take one to two mouse clicks on one menu ends up taking 5+ mouse clicks on several menus and internet browser tabs. Pay- Many competing insurance companies pay 6-10k more for a similar role. You could easily apply to a basic customer service role at a business within walking distance from the campus and be paid more.

Pros

I cant think of any throughout my four years of employment. State Farm is no longer about people.

Cons

Shift Work similar to a call center. Micro Managed by the minute. Point Sytem, High Turnover, Poor Leadership, no integrity, lack of professionalism, do not follow through on raises or bonus, terminated a large percentage of tenured employees, poor culture, employees not happy.
