Not what it used to be

Pros

Lost of opportunity for advancement in Hub locations. Company car for most field jobs Some jobs you can work from home

Cons

They place more and more work on the first line managers plate with no consideration for work life balance. They ask the managers to observe 20-30 year employees for half a day to find opportunities for coaching. After 30 years you probably know what you’re doing. Only one person can be off from a team at a time unless there is a medical reason. They are now very numbers driven, yet don’t provide tools that work to help you achieve your goals. Every new technology item they roll out has a glitch or doesn’t work right. If you submit an idea for consideration to help things improve, it goes into a black hole. Maybe 1-2% of ideas get looked at. You are reapplying for your job every 2-3 years. Due to this moral is low and people are feeling undervalued or replaceable. If you don’t live in the right area, you can forget about keeping your job. You won’t get an offer if you reapply.

Pros

PTO, great co-workers, decent benefits.

Cons

Everything! Micromanagement has now gone to an extreme level that stresses out employees in every department. The Upper leadership has become a joke because they are not transparent and are laying off people and closing locations that were not advised in prior multi-year notices. It is a stressful environment with someone always watching over your work and asking you to do more! It is a horrible place compared to when I started with the company 9 years ago. They plan to hire in the HUB locations Dallas, Atlanta and Tempe with employees at cheaper salaries and run them ragged in 3 years. They start the whole process over again and hire a new crew to overwork and stress out!

Pros

Co-workers are (mostly) great, it's in a nice location

Cons

Upper management is destroying the company. This used to be a GREAT place to work, but the past 3 or 4 years has been a downward spiral of bad decisions, stripping benefits, and a management push to switch metrics for success from customer satisfaction to speed and profit. For a customer-based industry like insurance, where haw happy you make the customer is more important than how fast you get them in and out of your business, this has been a huge, destructive, change. Employee morale is underwater, and continues to slide down the drain.
