      - i was able to learn about many industries while working in the insurance industry - i met many people

      Cons

      -Agent was very lazy - Benefits were awful - having to cold call clients and having to sell them more insurance products did more harm than good.

      They are large company to work for Promotes from within Salary competitive with other companies Diverse population in most positions

      Cons

      Alot of micromanaging No independent thoughts or decision making abilities Too much paperwork and red tape Raises and bonuses are minimal

      I worked for an independent agent so experiences wiil vary.

      Cons

      Agency contract is not as lucrative as it used to be. 15-20 years ago it was unheard of for an agent to "go out of business". Now they are dropping like flies. If they can actually write 40 cars a month of new business, they are at work from 7am to 7pm...i doubt if that's why any of them actually went into business for themselves in the first place.
