Pros

First and foremost, the people. Everyone is very helpful and for the most part hardworking. They put an interest in investing in you as an invidividual.

Cons

Pay could be higher. However, you're only working 36 hours per week (standard work week) so from that point of view pay is decent. Also, chance for advancement is minimal/ takes a long time.

Pros

Flexibility of being an independent agent is great for you & your family. Brand recognition of State Farm is good. Operations people are very dedicated. Suppport for sales and services is great.

Cons

New contract = the elephant in the room that management refuses to talk about. 80% of agents on the new contract are VERY dissatified. VPA's & AFE's refuse to talk about it. If you come from outside State Farm as an agent, expect a small assignment of policies. Don't be suprised when the guy/girl from the Regional Office get's an agency with 500 - 1000 more policies to start than you did. Revenue projections are not anywhere near what was presented.
