Pros

*Great emphasis on employee development and work/life balance *The company is super-focused on our customers *Very stable and respected company *Tuition reimbursement available after one year of employment *Amazing employee retention and tenure; most people do not want to leave once they've started! *Excellent benefits, including an available credit union membership. The benefits are very comprehensive. *Support and rewards for industry education. State Farm helps their employees be the most knowledgable in the industry. *A very respectable and straightforward culture. They don't put up with any 'shenanigans', if an employee does something dishonest or unacceptable they will be fired. This is in keeping with State Farm's dedication to service and keeps employee pride and morale high. *I am very proud, and happy, to be employed by State Farm. Have been with them for fewer than 5 years and hope to be working there until retirement.

Cons

The only downside that I have seen is that State Farm is so focused on doing what is right and remaining stable and profitable and secure that sometimes it takes us longer to make changes than it would at other companies. This is also partly due to the fact that we're such a huge insurer.

Pros

The company is thorough in their pursuit of excellence. The company in my experience fosters growth through team effort. State Farm settles claims in a timely fashion and tows the line in paying claims fairly. Customer feedback as a whole reflected appreciation and gratitude for how they were handled making my job easier. The company seemed more than fair with pay and rewarded those that merited it through work ethic.

Cons

Not real flexible due to the size of the organization but fair.

Pros

time off, opportunities for advancement if mobile, training, tuition reimbursement, education support, multiple locations makes relocation to desired area more likely

Cons

The company often rests on past successes. Seems to be the "last to the party" on things like internet sales, claim systems, and technology.
