Pros

Sate Farms offers many products in all lines of life, health, auto, fire and bank. All these products are superior in service and coverage. The service is provided by the agent staff who essentially always put the cusomer needs first to make sure the customer is satisfied.State Farm offers training so each staff member is qualified to sell and service each product.

Cons

State Farm Agents work directly for State Farm. Their benefits are tremendously generous. However, the staff are offered little or no benefits. This is not a professional working environment. This reflects the low ratings.

Pros

Work/Life Balance is great at State Farm. I think the company does attempt to create policies that treat employees well. The pay is fair considering the work. I'm not sure that is the case in all departments, but it is in systems.

Cons

The systems department nurtures and grows mediocre performance from its IT staff. Not enough challenges! You are placed into a 'role' that is responsible for a sliver of the project or a sliver of the service work. If you want a job where you will gain enough knowledge about IT and systems that you can really grow your career, this is probably not the best place for you. I say probably because some people really succeed in this company, but it is very difficult. You would need to move around a lot to other areas. On the other hand if you like to surf the Internet, there are many ‘roles’ that have that kind of free time.

Pros

Company stability. Benefits okay, but could be better.

Cons

Inflexibility. Constantly understaffed. Unrealistic workload and performance expectations. Constant influx of new employees who often leave once trained and placed in a position. Needs, experience, accomplishments, opinions of tenured employees often overlooked and taken for granted. Promotions and placements often the result of office politics.
