Pros

20 PTO days pension after 5 years

Cons

MANDATORY overtime (dont want to do it or dont have time? get fired) 401k match is $900/yr only salary is low for the industry you get 20 PTO days but can almost never take them you have to bid for shifts and PTO and if youre new you get bupkis Absolutely horrible changes being made that are entirely responsible for such our massive loss of customers last year. Everything they do in claims, especially the metrics you have to keep up with, are adverse to the interest of the customer and the "remarkable" cust service they push Raises are tiny

Pros

PROS you meet some amazing people and there are some amazing benefit that State farm offers that most companies do not like Pension, they also contribute a great percentage to both your 401k and Roth, at which I was able to take all contributions from me and state farm to an IRA. Honestly that's all I can say that's good about the company.

Cons

Where do I start, this company has no care about their employees, I went in with an amazing positive attitude and left with stress and depression. 1) The worst training I have ever had in my life, they only teach you the systems, they do not teach you your role within the company, Mainly you will learn that 74% of management in the Auto ILR department has no knowledge of Auto Claims Process, simply because they were offered immediate positions from Fire to auto with limited training... So now you have uneducated management and staff. Due to lack of training and knowledge your are encouraged to reference a intranet web for help "while on a call" that has the answers but you have to know how to dig for them. OR you have the option to calling a team that points you in the direction to find the answer on the intranet "while your on the call with a customer" 2) Their attendance policy NO ONE KNOWS, don't believe me ask 5 people including management and NO ONE KNOWS the correct process, so they are firing people left and right.. Not only are they are firing people left and right for attendance they also have a TERRIBLE turn around process for the customers, My philosophy is you never know what a person is going through, WE are dealing with someone who has just experienced a tragedy, rather it was their first accident, loss of their car, or loss of their/others lives. State farm has a rush rush expectation that I am just not accustomed to as a customer service background with full compassion for so many people. Statefarm states that their "Metrics" are not important however it is the only thing that they care about, besides "Who you know" you could fail in all categories but if you know the right manager, your safe. They do not celebrate their employees, out of 2 years the first time I received a thank you was my first week out of training here and there they may bring us a bag of chips or M&M's . No recognition programs or anything that makes you want to work harder for the company, just always your doing good BUT..... Not to mention the 2 suicides that happened right on our property that they never even attempted to console us on, if mentioned management was advised to tell us to please show some respect for those individuals and not to speak on it. Well hell how do you think this makes your employees feel? WORST company to work for in my opinion.

Pros

Brand Recognition, Pension Plan, Anniversary Gifts, Wages are Competitive in my local area & convenient local office with parking ( for now ) Health Insurance & 401k are optional

Cons

Time Clock & Strict Point System for tardiness & absences Revolving Doors that often don’t revolve & trap you, blocking access to the Time Clock mentioned above. PTO bank has to cover all absences - vacation, sick, personal, etc. Actually getting to take any of the time in your PTO bank is another story- time off requests denied more often than approved. Upper Management completely out of touch or simply doesn’t care that morale is at an all time low; yet, announce absurd new goals & metrics almost monthly. Computer system & programs often crash- Monthly Barometer Survey with the same 10 questions - I guess they just ignore the answers each Month because it’s only getting worse! Time Tracker / production tool for reporting every moment of the day.
