Pros

Good benefits, many good employees, you can go far if you have a manager who recognizes your talent. When times are good, State Street can be generous.

Cons

Upper management out of touch, can be very demoralizing. Some manager are great and some are awful. For entry-level, not much advancement.

Pros

The number reason to work at State Street is the culture. There is a strong focus on promoting a team-oriented work environment and management is typically very supportive of the work/personal needs of employees. The work/life balance is great, including flexible work from home arrangements.

Cons

Compensation for position is not as competitive as comparable positions at other financial firms. Verbal claims by firm of "identifying and retaining key talent" are not supported by payscale.
