Too many layers of management that forces mid-level managers to be self-important. Upper management has no real insight into the projects as the middle managers spin their status's for their own personal agendas and upper management is left without a real view from the technical staff. There is also a corporate "culture" at the top that does not resonate with the billable staff doing the work. Profit sharing via shared company stock is disproportionately given to those with self-important titles vs. the actual billable staff serving the customers.
